The Problem
Construction quantity takeoff is manual, slow, and error-prone. Reading blueprints, extracting measurements, and estimating material quantities by hand takes hours and is a bottleneck for project teams.
The Approach
I built a system that combines multimodal document processing with AI-assisted takeoff. It reads blueprints and PDFs, extracts quantities with AI, and routes the work through an orchestrated set of agents and workflows.
Architecture & Engineering
A full-stack application with a database-driven architecture for persistent state, an AI agent orchestration layer, an export pipeline, and a complex interactive UI for reviewing and managing takeoff workflows.
Stack
Next.js, TypeScript, Gemini for multimodal understanding, PostgreSQL for persistent data, and an orchestrated AI agent pipeline.
Outcome
A flagship product that demonstrates end-to-end engineering. AI integration, data architecture, agent orchestration, and a usable interface all working together as one system.
What I'd Do Next
Add richer blueprint visualization, deeper integration with project-management tools, and tighter security and authorization controls across teams.
